Our story begins in a very everyday setting - in the garden of Georg's parents' house, in a suburb of Munich, in 2019. The cistern installed there was not working particularly well at the time. It was constantly empty, the dirt filter was constantly clogged and had been forgotten to be cleaned. The combination with the built-in watering computer for garden irrigation was particularly far from ideal, as it completely ignored the fill level of the cistern when planning the irrigation. Georg, now our technical head at myCistern, asked himself the simple yet far-reaching question: Can rainwater use work just as well and reliably as using tap water?

It all started with a few hoses, sensors and self-written control software. In this cistern, between garden tools and old furniture, myCistern took its first steps.

Fast forward to 2024, the team has grown. Christian and Patrick have joined to really drive things forward. As a business economist, Christian brings the necessary structure to the company, draws up contracts and takes care of financing. Patrick, on the other hand, can draw on several years of experience in sales, an indispensable skill when it comes to reaching our customers.

We quickly grew into a strong team. The days are long, and we often work late into the night, but the atmosphere is more like a joint project between friends than that of a large company. There are no big speeches - instead, we focus on what needs to be done and how we can best do it.

We believe that every step counts. We want to show our customers that sustainability and comfort are not mutually exclusive, but complement each other perfectly. And we want to prove that the problems associated with climate change can be solved through the clever use of technology.

But our work is not just about technology and sales figures, but above all about making a positive contribution and leaving the world a little better than we found it.

myCistern is characterized by practical solutions, a great team and the constant drive to turn our ideas into reality. We are proud of where we are today and look forward to what the future holds.
